Emily Carr University of Art and Design

Founded in 1925, Emily Carr University of Art and Design is one of the oldest post-secondary institutions in British Columbia and the only one that is dedicated solely to professional education and learning in the arts, media and design. One of the University’s roles is to act as an advocate for the arts and reinforce the need for public support. At every opportunity, the University promotes public understanding and appreciation of fine arts, media arts, and design for their significant impact on the well-being of our society.

The University delivers outstanding education through its four faculties and two areas, 11 undergraduate degrees, 2 graduate degrees, a jointly-offered Master of Digital Media and Year-round certificates, programs and classes for lifelong creative study that are delivered from various locations. It is Canada’s most intensive research focus in the creative field.

Emily Carr University of Art and Design campus is a purpose-built, light-filled space designed to foster innovation and collaboration. With state-of-the-art program space, as well as flexible gathering areas, the building encourages interdisciplinary community with accessibility and sustainability at its core.
