All OCSB schools offers a welcoming environment to students along with academic excellence. The EQAO Achievement Scores are above the provincial average on the EQAO assessments of reading, writing, and mathematics and percentage of students successful on the OSSLT assessment for each of the grades.
High schools are grades 9 to 12 and offer a wealth of academic opportunities in a welcoming and supportive environment. All schools offer French pathway options, a variety of programs, sports, arts, clubs and activities to encourage students to grow and thrive, with the option of online learning through Virtual Academy. The intermediate schools are grades 7 and 8, and for most students their intermediate school will be housed in the same building as their high school. In intermediate school, students have different teachers for many subjects, usually stay with the same group of students (called their homeroom), change classrooms for each course, have lockers to store personal belongings, have a wider choice of extracurricular activities and social engagement opportunities, in preparation for the transition to high school. Students can join their schools anytime, in-person or through virtual program. Elementary schools are Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 and students can start anytime, in-person or virtually.
Ottawa is a safe, bilingual city filled with parks, museums, galleries, sports teams, shopping, restaurants, the Rideau Canal, nearby sky hills and hiking, world-class hospitals, and embassies. Best of all, Ottawa offers the opportunity to prepare for and attend post-secondary institutions in the area.
