Detailed Information

University of Guelph-Humber

In 2002, the University of Guelph-Humber was established as a partnership between the University of Guelph and Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. Students earn both a four-year honor’s degree from the University of Guelph and a diploma from Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning concurrently, after four years of full-time study.

The university offers seven focused four-year undergraduate programs: business, community social services, early childhood studies, justice studies, kinesiology, media and communication studies, and psychology. All programs offer placements ranging from a minimum of 100 hours to over 850 hours throughout the four years. The University of Guelph-Humber is located in Toronto, one of the world’s most diverse cities, providing students with many opportunities for unique and interesting placements.

With a close-knit community of approximately 4,900 students, the average class size is only 49 students. This allows for students and faculty to interact, contributing to a supportive and collaborative setting. A unique research assistantship program sees undergraduate students working as paid research assistants along with faculty on research projects, giving students a rare opportunity to hone their research skills and boost their employability.

With a day-long orientation and other new student events, international students are supported in their transition. International students may receive a renewable International Student Entrance Scholarship, worth up to CAD 20,500 over four years. Students have an academic advisor to assist with program-related questions and study guidance, a field placement coordinator to support them through placement, and a career services coordinator to help with employment and career guidance. Getting involved on campus is easy with the help of Student Life staff.
